Thank you for your interest in our website. Protecting your personal data when you visit our website in terms of its collection, processing and use is of considerable importance to us.
Personal data are pieces of information that can be used to determine your identity. This includes your name, address, postal address and telephone number. Information that has no connection to your identity (such as the number of users of a website), are not included in this. You may generally use our online offer without disclosing your identity.
If you visit our website or use our services, the device that you used to access it automatically transfers log files (connection data) to our server. Log files contain the IP address of the device with which you access the website or a service, the type of browser with which you access the page that you previously visited, your system configuration and date and time details. The IP addresses are only stored as long as is necessary to provide our services. Otherwise, the IP addresses are erased or anonymised. When visiting our website, we store your IP address for a maximum of 7 days, to recognise and prevent attacks.
If you request information, order e-books or pose other questions, we ask for your name and other personal information. It is your choice to decide whether or not you want to provide the respective data. We store your data on highly protected servers in Switzerland. The EU commission attested to Switzerland after relevant assessment that its level of data protection is comparable to EU law. Data transfer from the EU to Switzerland is permitted by data protection law. Only few, authorised persons have access to it. These are responsible for the technical, commercial or editorial maintenance of the content and server.
If the usage and/or flow data are required for our services, they will be stored for a maximum of six months after collection of data. If the data are necessary for the fulfilment of existing legal, statutory or contractual storage periods (e.g. invoices), these data will also be stored. However, these data are unavailable and only accessible to authorised persons via password.
Right to Object to Data Collection in Special Cases as well as to Direct Marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
If data is processed based upon point (e) or (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your data at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation; this shall also apply to any profiling based upon these provisions. The respective legal basis on which data is processed is set forth in this Privacy Policy. If you file an objection, we will no longer process your personal data affected, unless we are able to demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (objection under Art. 21(1) GDPR).
If we process your personal data for the purposes of direct marketing, you have the right to submit an objection to the processing of your personal data for such marketing purposes; insofar as it is associated with such direct marketing, this also applies to profiling. If you file an objection, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for the purpose of direct marketing (objection under Art. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to the Restriction of Processing
You have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data. For this purpose, you may contact us at the address specified in the legal notice, at any time. The right to restriction of the processing applies in the following cases:
• If you challenge the accuracy of your personal data retained by us, we generally need time to check the matter. For the duration of our examination, you have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data.
• If the processing of your personal data was/is performed unlawfully, you can request restriction of the data processing instead of erasure.
• If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, you have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
• If you have filed an objection under Art. 21(1) GDPR, we have to balance your interests against ours. As long as it is not clear whose interests override, you have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data.
Where you have restricted the processing of your personal data, such personal data may, with the exception of retention, only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or of a member state.
We only use your personal information for the purpose of usage by us. Without your explicit consent, we will not disclose your data to any third party. Your data will be disclosed to entities entitled to this information where we are obliged by law or court order to disclose such data.
